How to Audit a Service Page Conversion Path
A practical audit of the steps between an organic landing page and a qualified enquiry.
Map the actual visitor path
Start from a service keyword and the page Google should surface. Read the headline as a first-time visitor: does it name the service, audience and outcome without requiring a second click? Follow every primary CTA to its destination. A broken form, irrelevant calendar or generic homepage redirect is a conversion problem even when rankings look healthy.
Test the mobile enquiry journey
Use a narrow screen and inspect the CTA position, input labels, field errors and confirmation state. Submit a test enquiry using a clearly marked internal test address. Confirm the notification reaches the intended inbox and that the user sees a meaningful success message. Do not record a conversion merely because the button was clicked.
Separate traffic quality from page friction
Compare search queries, landing-page sessions, CTA clicks and successful form submissions. If visitors search for a specific service but land on a broad agency page, clarify the offer and link to the right service detail. If qualified visitors reach the form but abandon it, reduce unnecessary fields before increasing advertising spend.
Keep an evidence log
For each fix, record the old behavior, changed URL, production check and resulting lead metric. Recheck after release, including on mobile. See the related SEO prioritization matrix for how to rank fixes by commercial impact.
